Why we chose this
Puglia masserias are everywhere now, but most have been polished into interchangeable luxury retreats. Casa al Mare still feels like a working farm that happens to have very good rooms. The olive groves are productive, the kitchen uses what grows, and the coast is close enough to walk to.
What to expect
Thick stone walls keep rooms cool without air conditioning. Terraces face west for long evening light. The pool sits between two ancient olive trees. Dinners are communal and excellent — expect handmade orecchiette and local wine from vines you can see from the table.

Couples and friends who want southern Italy without the resort veneer.
