Why we chose this
Frome has been quietly becoming one of the best small towns in England for food, independent shops, and a certain creative energy that has nothing to do with London. The Mill House sits right in it — a converted textile mill on the river that takes its setting seriously.
What to expect
The rooms look out over the millrace. Interiors mix industrial bones (exposed beams, original ironwork) with warm, layered furnishings that feel genuinely personal rather than designed-by-committee. Breakfast is the highlight: local, seasonal, and substantial enough to anchor a day of walking.
Best for
Foodies, market lovers, and anyone who has been meaning to visit Frome but needed an excuse.
